General workshop information


  • I am a Powertex Certified Tutor so you can be assured that you will receive expert tuition as well as hints and tips obtained from Powertex UK’s national network of tutors.
  • Each technique and each step of the process will be demonstrated first and I will then be on hand to assist participants as they get stuck in themselves.

  • All materials are provided for each workshop so you don’t need to bring anything except your imagination.

  • Whilst it is possible to work cleanly with Powertex, to be on the safe side I ask that you wear old clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Powertex is a fabric hardener and dye (that is why we are using it after all) so it won’t wash out of clothing completely. I will also provide you with an apron and gloves during the workshop.

  • Disclaimer: This is a truly addictive craft and once you have the bug no wooden or fabric item is safe. As your tutor, I take no responsibility for what you might do with Powertex once you leave my workshop!!

Workshop payment and cancellation policy

Payment for workshops must be made in full at the time of booking.


If you need to cancel your booking for any reason please contact me as soon as possible.  

Depending on the amount of notice given, you will be eligible for either a full or partial refund as follows:

Over 28 days before the workshop date – full refund given

Between 14 and 28 days before the workshop date – 75% refund given

Between 7 and 14 days before the workshop date – 50% refund given

Less than 7 days before the workshop date – no refund given

Any refund due will be paid to the original payee only and by the original payment method.


If you do not turn up for your workshop, you will not be eligible for a refund nor will you be eligible to move your booking to an alternative date.


In the unlikely event that a workshop has to be cancelled by artnextdoor, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or the opportunity to book onto an alternative workshop. You will be given as much notice as possible if a workshop has to be cancelled.


This policy may be subject to change so please check at the time of booking. The policy in place at the time of booking a place on a workshop will apply in the event of a cancellation – this will be included in your booking confirmation email.


Group workshops

If you would like to arrange a workshop specifically for a group that you are a member of, a price will be quoted upon enquiry which will take into account the number of participants, material costs, the length of the workshop and any travel costs. This assumes that a suitable venue is available to the group and any venue hire costs are covered by the group.


Once agreed, payment must be made in full at least 21 days before the date of the workshop (unless agreed otherwise).


If the workshop is cancelled by the requesting group at least 14 days before the workshop date, a full refund will be given less a £10 administration fee. If less than 14 days notice is given, and a suitable date cannot be rearranged, the group will be refunded 75% of the total cost.
